End of the year relfection

This is about my reflection about the end of the year. Also what I have achieved, if I helped others or if they helped me. This is my last blog post. I hope you enjoy!

My reflection about genius hour.

What: What I did is that I researched some of my questions. On my note taking document. I was talking to my buddy that I was working with about what their question is I helped them with what kind of question the wondered about. Their Topic.

 So what: The reason why is so can find more facts about my topic. ( Question) Also I was helping my buddy to come up of a wonder. To help them know about their topic too like me.

 Now what: My next step is to find out more information about my question. Try collaborate more often and make my questions more exciting for my topic and my buddies.

Genuis hour with MRS

What? On 2.8.14 Flox and McCahon went to were going to May road School. To teach them about genius hour. How to collaborate with each other and in their class. We were getting into groups and working to together on genius hour and we came up with a name for my genius hour. ( topic ) 

 So what?We wanted to share our ideas about genius hour. How to collaborate with each other and in their class. We were getting into groups and working to together on genius hour and we came up with a name for my genius hour. ( topic ) Also because they just started and Miss Kingston told Miss Haydon about it and they thought to have like a collaboration. That means like room 10 and 9 have chromebooks right, and we come to their school to teach them about genius hour. Not just genius hour we were going to make some friends because some are going to the same intermediate school as us next year. 

Now what? My next step is to make more friends so we can collaborate more often and you never know you might see them next year. To collaborate and work to together and get lots of information about the topic.

My Key Competencies Reflection for the last Term 2

This is about my Key Competencies Reflection. My writing about what am I proud of.

This year I was afraid because chromebooks was new to me because last year I was I was struggling  to use the laptops!! Because at my old school we just use books and only 1 or 2,3,4 netbooks but we hardly use it only for learning games. But now i'm not afraid anymore because my teacher ( Miss Kingston) told us new and fun games but  just learning and blogs, blogs can share my learning all over the world !!!

Also im proud of that two of my friends were friends with each other then after a week there were enemies but then i was going to fit it. By getting them to together and a week they were friends again. I was really proud of that because I just made  enemies to BFF ( best friend forever)

Faith Nga Manawa

This presentation is about mangroves, how we should protect them and how they protect us.

The three things I have learnt is:
1. They love to live in the North Island.
2. They don't like to live in the South island because it is too cold for them to grow.
3. Their roots are like snorkels so they can give them oxygen

Yesterday Kennedy came in McCahon class and told us all about mangroves. He is a mangrove expert!

We have been learning about ocean currents and using thinklink and using it to create content which other people can use to learn from thinglink oceans. 

Things I have learnt about ocean currents:

1. ocean  currents move around the world.

2. If you did not have Ocean currents the ocean would be still!

3.Ocean currents keep the lands warm from the cold.

1) Some jellyfish are umbrella shapes.
jellyfish eat each and other!!!
2) They are like a soup bowl-sized.
They live in freshwater and lakes,ocean.
3)They eat small things such as plants.
They scare off predators for their behaviour.

In class I have been practicing my basic facts on xtramaths.

Green means that I have being doing my answers quickly and fast.If you see a red x that means my answers are wrong or I didn't do it faster. Also if you see a yellow square that means I got my answer correct, but I can't answer it quickly yet. The gray square is when I missed it out or I got it wrong.

My next step will be to practice my basic facts like 5+6 and 7+4.
